Geography.
The municipality of Northern Buenavista has a surface area of 67,42 Km 2 that occupies the north-western part of the Island of Tenerife, with an altitude of 110 m, at a road distance of 71 Km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife and a population of 5.453.
It limits to the east with the municipality of Los Silos, and to the south with Santiago del Teide by the Seco Canyon (Barranco del Seco).
In it is one of the oldest geological sectors of Tenerife: the massif of Teno, formed by multiple lava emissions.
The permanent erosive activity has sculpted a terrain characterized by deep canyons and high cliffs that can still be seen, such Los Gigantes, or that have disappeared due to the appearance of the so-called low isles.
